Besix to construct a new deepwater berth in Gdansk
DCT Gdansk has finalized the tender process for the design and construction of a new berth and the adjacent container stacking yards. The winning bid came from the N.V. BESIX company.
Banks to provide up to €290 million for the development DCT Gdansk
The group of commercial and development banks will finance the investment and provide up to €290 million for the project. Conclusion of the financing process, together with the appointment of NV Besix SA as general contractor, are important milestones making way for the start of the investment’s construction phase.
Construction of a new deepwater berth in DCT Gdansk has started
DCT Gdansk has officially started the construction phase of a new deepwater quay in Gdansk’s Northern Port. 22nd January 2015 DCT Gdansk handed over the construction site to the Belgian N.V. BESIX – the general contractor and the designer of the new facility.
Groundbreaking ceremony of T2 project
Construction of the second deep-water berth in DCT Gdansk (T2) became a fact. Janusz Piechocinski, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, officially inaugurated the construction of the new terminal. Completion of this project with an investment amounting to EUR 200 million, which is financed by the consortium of 7 banks, is scheduled for the Q3 2016.
FIRST STS CRNES FOR THE NEW T2 BERTH ALREADY IN DCT GDAŃSK
On May the 2nd 2016 the vessel with first STS cranes destined for T2 operations moored at the newly built second berth of DCT Gdańsk terminal. This arrival heralds the forthcoming finalization of one of the largest investment project in Pomeranian history.
