DCT Gdańsk conducts its activity with care about the natural environment, safety of the surroundings and its employees. Our sustainable development priorities include the care about the natural resources, occupational safety at the terminal and minimisation of potential hazards that may be created by us for the surroundings. DCT’s involvement in this area is embodied by the following actions: In May 2017 there commenced the 1st edition of the Open Days for the children of DCT’s employees. The campaign is aimed at showing children the work place of their parents, and making children aware of the safety issues from the earliest years. The children were offered a lot of attractions at the Open Days: Demonstration of terminal equipment (ECH, IMV, fork lifts) Instructions on how to administer pre-medical aid, directed to children and their parents WOPR stand - possibility of learning about the work of lifeguards and demonstration of the equipment used by them during rescue actions (scooter, boat) Border Guard stand - possibility of visiting a Shengenbus, being a mobile border check point. What should be emphasised is that DCT strictly complies with the safety principles. All attractions were available in the enclosed area in front of the administration building, and on the premises of the terminal there were held trips by bus, dedicated only to children aged 12+, who visited the terminal without leaving the bus.
DCT Gdańsk organises, once per year, the Active OHS Day on the premises of the terminal. The purpose of the campaign is to make employees aware of the importance of occupational health and safety, not only in the work place, and to conduct drills of near miss incidents. By 2015 all campaign editions were directed to employees, but since 2016 the Active OHS Day has also been directed to truck drivers coming to DCT. What events are held during the Active OHS Day?
