DCT Gdansk awarded in „Pomeranian Employer of 2010” contest

On January 11th, 2011, DCT Gdansk was awarded in the first edition of the contest for the best Pomeranian employer. The competition organized by the “Employers of Pomerania”, an organization comprising 538 companies from Pomerania, aims at promoting entrepreneurship and economic development of the Pomeranian province. “Pomeranian Employer” is promoting employers who excel in appropriate shaping of relationship between employees and company as well as those who comply and surpass their obligations towards employees and local authorities timely and faithfully. DCT Gdansk terminal was awarded in the category of Large Enterprise. DCT Gdansk currently employs 346 people (in comparison to 259 employees employed beginning of 2010). The award ceremony took place at Artus Court in Gdansk, during a formal gathering with several hundred participants. Representatives of education, science, culture, politics, business, media, sports and foreign partners took part in the event. The award for DCT Gdansk terminal was presented by Roman Zaborowski, Pomeranian Governor to Danuta Biłat, DCT Gdansk Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. Conducting the ceremony, Zbigniew Canowiecki, President of “Employers of Pomerania” mentioned the extraordinary dynamism of DCT Gdansk growth, where total turnover increased by 178 percent in 2010 compared to previous year and totaled over 451 000 TEU. This success would not be possible without dedication and professionalism of DCT Gdansk employees. Obtaining such significant results proves that the company has excellent management, highly skilled staff and good cooperation with stakeholders. Dynamic growth in the number of container turnover stimulates continuous improvement and employment in the company and contributes to the development of the labor market in the whole Pomeranian region. The Pomeranian Logistics Center adjacent to container terminal is just one of the direct effects of the dynamic growth of DCT Gdansk.
