Library a beneficiary of Busole
The library on Stogi Island became one of the 7 winners of the first edition of the Busole District Grant. The funds raised under the project ‘Social self-help on the island of Stogi – we create/enhance the material base of the Social Library’ were used to modernise the space, purchase new equipment and support local community activities.
For children and young people
Supporting local initiatives is a permanent part of the Baltic Hub’s strategy. The company is particularly close to activities for children and young people, which is why it was delighted to receive the results of the Competition Jury, which chose support for the Social Library, located at 14 Hoża Street in Stogi, as one of 18 different projects.
An attractive location
Funds obtained from the grant enabled the Library to improve its premises, purchase carpets, curtains, chairs, shelving and multimedia equipment such as a camera, camcorder, projector and screen. The space has gained in attractiveness, making visitors even more willing to get involved in activities organized by the Library.
The magic of the place
A wide range of activities for young and old alike, including music, art, computer and language classes, make the Library a real heart of the neighborhood. It is a place that brings generations together, where you can find a safe space, develop your talents, spend time according to your interests and forget yourself reading books, selected from a selection of 30,000.
Everyone will find their place here.
Activities in the Library
Since the grant was awarded, the Library has undertaken a number of initiatives in various areas, including organizing more than 50 classical music concerts, 12 EcoClub meetings, 12 arts and crafts workshops and 79 Mom and Toddler Club meetings.
Children can also take advantage of speech and neurological consultations and try their hand at playing the flute.
The library is also an immigrant-friendly place – for example, reading lessons are organized here.
The Baltic Hub will soon be announcing the next edition of the Busole District Grant as a continuation of its Neighbors’ activities.
– The grant project is a unique opportunity to recognize the most creative initiatives from our immediate surroundings. It is also an excellent basis for deepening cooperation with our neighbors. – emphasizes Charles Baker.
