Safely by the water
Safely by the water – Educational action
The Baltic Hub was once again involved in the educational action “Safely by the water”, co-produced by Dziennik Bałtycki. The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness among children and adults regarding appropriate behavior in case of danger on the beach and in the water.
During the event on 28 July 2023, safety experts gave practical tips and shared knowledge on how to safely use the beach and water. Participants were able to learn about the rules of open water swimming, avoiding strong currents, recognizing hazards and entering the water safely.
The event was also attended by police officers from the Prevention Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk, who familiarized those interested with beach safety rules, gave tips on securing property and answered any questions from participants.
There were also workshops and first aid demonstrations. Experts showed how to perform CPR and how to use automatic AED defibrillators. These are valuable skills that can save lives in case of emergencies on the beach.
For the youngest beachgoers, there were many activities and animations that not only provided entertainment, but also taught appropriate reactions in case of an emergency. The children had the opportunity to have fun and at the same time gain knowledge about water safety, enabling them to become more aware beachgoers.
“Safely on the water” was not only an opportunity to have fun, but above all a moment to reflect on the importance of maintaining proper safety rules on the beach and in the water. All participants had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and skills so that holidays on the water can be even safer and more enjoyable.
Safety is very important to the Baltic Hub, which is why we support campaigns that promote it.
